Beginner 20 Minute Interval Workout With Weights

This workout requires very little space, a pair of dumbbells or some sort of hand weights.

I love using Power Blocks and I also use the Gymboss timer with the Reebok Deck which is super versatile and ideal for home use, or you can use any bench you choose.

There are five exercises in this workout which are done for 30 seconds each with a 10 second rest to move from one exercise to the other which makes 1 set. You should repeat each exercise for 6 set. Choose a weight that you can control enough to slow down the movement at will and only increase the weight in the last set.

The exercises are standing dumbbell curls, lying dumbbell tricep extention, seated twisting shoulder press, jumping side quarter lunge, swinging hammer curl flat foot no jump squat. remember to repeat 6 times and avoid rest in between sets.

This routine may look easy however with slow, controlled, and consistent technique as demonstrated in the video, the difficulty will surprise you. Please pay particular attention to the speed of movement, breathing technique, steady stance and movement, and correct body alignment.

These are the things that make the difference in the end consequently making your workout effective. Watch the video until you are confident you know what to do and always train in front of a mirror so you can check your technique, and speed of movement.

Choose a weight that you can control enough to slow down the movement and only increase the weight in the last set. If you have a video camera you should record your workout and then play it back to see how you did. A picture is worth a thousand words, especially a moving one. Do this workout and let us know how you found it and whether you were able to finish it. Hope you enjoy it. Change your mind 1st, your body next, and your life forever!
